A Home Ministry order designating 10 central agencies to intercept and monitor information in electronic devices triggered a political firestorm on Friday after the opposition flagged down the government order as “extremely worrisome”. MHA order: Opposition making a mountain where molehill doesn’t exist, says FM Jaitley

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in response to Congress leader Anand Sharma’s criticism on MHA order allowing ten agencies to monitor any computer said that Sharma is making a mountain where a molehill does not exist. The 10 agencies are the Central Bureau of Investigation, the National Investigation Agency, the Research and Analysis Wing, Intelligence Bureau, Narcotics Control Bureau, Enforcement Directorate, the Central Board of Direct Taxes, Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Directorate of Signal Intelligence (in service areas of J-K, North East and Assam) and the Commissioner, Delhi Police.
