India’s UN envoy Syed Akbaruddin charmed Pak journalist by "extending hand of friendship"

India’s Permanent Representative Syed Akbaruddin dramatically called for friendship to Pakistan when a Pakistani journalist complained on Friday about a lack of dialogue between the countries. At a UN event, when a senior Pakistani journalist asked him, “When will you begin a dialogue with Pakistan?” Akbaruddin said, “Let me begin by coming across to you, Give me your hand”. A Pakistani reporter had earlier asked why there was no contact between the neighbors and why India had not responded to requests for talks. “Stop terror to start talks,” Akbaruddin replied. Thousands protests in London for Kashmir outside Indian High Commission, 4 arrested and 1 injured

In London, thousands of people protested outside the Indian High Commission in support of the disputed region of Kashmir. According to media reports, protesters carried banners saying "Kashmir is Burning", "Free Kashmir", and "Modi: Make Tea Not War". The police said that four people have been arrested for affray, obstruction of police and possession of an offensive weapon. It added that one person sustained injuries. A Kashmiri origin Amir Tahir stated, “We want to show our solidarity with our Kashmiri brothers. Since 1947 Kashmir has been struggling to be free from India. India suspends service of Thar Link Express that connects to Pakistan till further notice

India has suspended the service of Thar Link Express from Jodhpur in India's Rajasthan to Pakistan and the service will stand suspended till further notice. Chief Public Relation Officer of the North-Western Railways, Abhay Sharma has confirmed that the train's scheduled journey didn't take place today. He added that the service for both up and down lines stand suspended till further notice. The Humsafar Trust has released a Pride-themed version of the National Anthem to celebrate the first Independence Day after the abrogation of Section 377 in September 2018.
