Retirement age for all paramilitary personnel fixed at 60: MHA

Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday said all Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) personnel will now retire at a fixed age of 60 years, irrespective of their rank. Currently, the retirement age of officers of the rank of the commandant and below in CAPFs and paramilitary forces is fixed at 57 years while officers of the rank of Deputy Inspector General and above retire on attaining the age of 60. MHA called the current policy "discriminatory and unconstitutional" and that it created two classes in the uniformed forces. The order will be implemented with immediate effect. Bhopal Bharatiya Janata Party MP Pragya Singh Thakur said that former PM Jawaharlal Nehru was a 'criminal' by announcing ceasefire in war with Pakistan when Indian forces were pushing back Pakistani tribals out of Kashmir. Thakur added that those opposing the Centre’s decisions on Jammu and Kashmir were not patriotic. US President Trump after phone calls with PM Modi & Pak PM Imran Khan on Kashmir: tough situation

US President Donald Trump urged PM Narendra Modi and Pakistan PM Imran Khan to work towards reducing tension over Kashmir, describing the situation as "tough". Trump asked Khan over the phone on Monday to 'reason with" India, soon after a 30-minute conversation with Modi, during which the Indian leader raised the issue of "extreme anti-India violence" by leaders of Pakistan. The US President tweeted that he had good conversations with the two leaders even though it was a tough situation. Chandrayaan-2 successfully enters Moon’s orbit, four weeks after launch

Chandrayaan-2, India’s second lunar exploration mission, has successfully entered in the Moon’s orbit today. The Lunar Orbit Insertion (LOI) maneuver was completed at 9.02 am as planned, ISRO said. The spacecraft will touch down on the Moon’s surface on September 7. According to ISRO, Chandrayaan-2 will highlight a completely unexplored region of the Moon, the South Pole.
