Total number of positive COVID-19 cases rises to 694 in India, death toll surges to 16

According to reports from the Health Ministry, the total number of coronavirus cases in India has risen to 694, while the death toll in the country has reached to 16. The confirmed cases comprise 647 Indian nationals and the remaining cases are of foreign nationals. The number of patients who have been cured or discharged is 44. Over 1,200 booked in Tamil Nadu for violating 21-day lockdown rules on the first day

According to media reports, the Tamil Nadu police have booked nearly 1,274 people across the state for various violations on the first day of the 21-day lockdown imposed due to Coronavirus by the central government. Out of these, 1,252 people were booked for violating the prohibitory orders under Section 144 in force in the state. Singer Kanika Kapoor deletes coronavirus post from Instagram due to constant trolling

Singer Kanika Kapoor who was recently tested positive of Coronavirus disease had shared an Instagram post announcing the news. But ever since the news Kanika has been receiving end of severe online backlash, mostly because of the perceived lack of caution she took after returning from the UK. Bihar allocates INR 100 cr to make shelters for workers stranded in other states: CM Kumar

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has announced that his government will coordinate with other states and bear the expenses of migrant workers stranded there. Kumar further added that a sum of INR 100 crore was released from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund which would be utilised for setting up shelters for rickshaw pullers and daily-wage earners living away from their homes.
