UP govt to provide free ride to women on Raksha Bandhan

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has announced that the state government will offer free travel to all women of the state on government buses of all classes on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. Yogi, in an interview, stated, "The free transportation service will remain effective for 24 hrs starting from midnight of August 14 till midnight of August 15. The women of this state will be given adequate security in the buses during the free travelling. This is a gift to all the sisters of Uttar Pradesh by the state government". He also wished all the daughters and sisters of the state a very happy Raksha Bandhan and assured all the women that the nation will continue celebrating the festival with same love and joy. Gujarat: Eight killed after compound wall collapses in Morbi

In Gujarat's Morbi region, around eight people have lost their lives after a compound wall collapsed. According to the media reports, rescue operations are presently underway. Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani acknowledged that around 11 people have lost their lives in within 24 hrs due to heavy rains causing damage in the state. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that extremely heavy rainfall will be witnessed across Gujarat in the next 24 hours. Mumbai gets nearly Rs 4,000 Cr plan to decongest metro station areas ahead of state polls

Last month, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) in a meeting approved a Rs 3,849.38 Cr plan to improve areas within a 500 meters outskirts of every metro station proposed or under construction and have a multi-modal integration. The plan will be implemented at all 155 metro stations across the proposed 12 metro corridors. MMRDA spokesperson Dilip Kawathkar stated, "We have consultants conduct a study on 30 metro stations being built along metro corridors and prepare a draft plan with a cost estimate. The cost of improving station areas and implementing a multi-modal integration will cost about Rs 25 Cr per station". Src: https://bit.ly/2MOopJ3

After Pakistan downgraded diplomatic ties with India over the revocation of Article 370, the External Affairs Minister spokesperson Raveesh Kumar stated, "Pakistan is nervous as it thinks it will not be able to mislead people if there is development in J&K".
