Maharashtra government set to create task force to study and prevent climate change impact

Maharashtra government is set to initiate a task force to study the impact of climate change in Mumbai. This monsoon, the city received unprecedented rainfall. The trend of short bursts of torrential rainfall is an indicator of the disastrous effects of climate change. The task force will study measures taken by cities like London, Venice, and Geneva, and prepare a plan for Mumbai which will include flood management. It will be set up in coordination with the state environment department and Mumbai First, a non-profit organization. The task force will work on taking pro-active measures. Maharashtra: CM and ministers to donate month's salary for flood relief

Recently, Maharashtra has witnessed a heavy rainfall causing the flood-like situation damaging the state and its people's routine life. After which the office of CM Devendra Fadnavis (CMO) on its Twitter handle stated, "CM Devendra Fadnavis and all the Ministers of Maharashtra Cabinet have decided to donate one month's salary towards the CM Relief Fund for Maharashtra Floods!" Another CMOs tweet read, "The state Cabinet announced Rs 6,813 Cr assistance for flood-affected persons of the state. Rs 4,708 Cr for Kolhapur, Sangli, and Satara. Maharashtra: The cabinet approves the Pune-Mumbai Hyperloop project

In recent times, The Maharashtra Cabinet chaired by CM Devendra Fadnavis has approved the ambitious Pune-Mumbai Hyperloop project, which aims to shorten the journey between Mumbai and Pune to a mere 23 minutes. The estimated cost of this project is said to be around Rs 70,000 crore. The project will cover a distance of 117.5 km stretch from Mumbai to Pune in mere 23 minutes at a speed of 496 KMPH. In SIM swap fraud case, the government ordered Vodafone- Idea to pay Rs 8.5 lakhs

The Maharashtra government’s adjudicating officer ordered Vodafone Idea to compensate a bank fraud victim with Rs 8.5 lakh for not following “reasonable security” practices in issuing a duplicate SIM card, which led to the fraudulence. According to the company 'Daffodils Furnishing', Rs 3.3 lakh and Rs 5 lakh were illegally debited from their account in two transactions and the money was transferred to a beneficiary in ICICI Bank.
