NLU topper chooses not to receive award from CJI Gogoi to protest injustice of sexual harassment charges

Surbhi Karwa, who topped the Master of Laws at the National Law University, Delhi on Saturday remained absent from the convocation ceremony, where she was to receive a gold medal from CJI Ranjan Gogoi. She remained absent to mark her protest over the Supreme Court's handling of the sexual harassment allegations against Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi. Karwa said,"Everything I learnt in the classroom put me in a moral quandary over the last few weeks on whether I should receive the award from CJI Gogoi. Modi-led BJP govt to be in power for next 25 years: Goa CM Pramod Sawant

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant while addressing BJP workers at a conference claimed that the Modi-led government will continue to rule the country 'for another 25 years'. Sawant said that in the coming days, the BJP government is going to make crucial decisions after which no one will be able to replace them. He added, "people from Jammu and Kashmir to Kanyakumari have decided that this government will stay for another 25 years". Zakir Naik faces trouble in Malaysia as 2 more states ban him from speaking in public

Two more Malaysian states have imposed a ban on Zakir Naik from speaking in public and delivering his speech. Naik has been banned in Malacca and Kedah states. According to media reports, Naik has been banned in eight Malaysian states including Kedah, Sabah, Penang, Perlis, and Sarawak. This came a day after Malaysia's PM Mahathir Mohammad acknowledged that Zakir Naik, wanted in India for hate speech, crossed boundaries and spoke on racial politics.
