Lok Sabha Secretariat bans use of plastics in Parliament complex

The Lok Sabha Secretariat on Tuesday had banned the use of non-reusable plastic water bottles and other plastic items within the Parliament House Complex. According to a circular, all officers of the Secretariat and other allied agencies working in the Parliament House Complex have been asked to comply with the directions and have been further advised to use environment-friendly materials instead. This comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi had urged citizens to abandon the use of single-use plastic and take significant steps to achieve this objective. All PMAY houses to be sanctioned by March 2020: Hardeep Singh Puri

Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri at the 15th annual convention of the National Real Estate Development Council at Delhi announced that the target of 'Housing for All' under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana(PMAY) will be achieved in 2020, two years before the deadline. Puri said, "We have sanctioned 84 lakh houses. I have full faith that by December 2019, all the 1 crore houses will be sanctioned. The additional demand of 12 lakh houses, which has raised our target to 1.12 crore, will be sanctioned in the first three months 2020". Goa: Over 6,000 farmers affected by rain fury, says Deputy CM Chandrakant Kavlekar

The heavy rain during this monsoon season had been found to take a huge tol lon the country. Recently Deputy Chief Minister Chandrakant Kavlekar has claimed, "As per our survey, more than 6,000 farmers have been affected due to heavy rains and flooding which caused losses amounting Rs 8.92 crore. Total 1,928 hectares of the area has been affected due to flooding.” In addition to this he added, at least 50 percent of the financial assistance would be provided to farmers before Ganesh Chaturthi festival, beginning on September 2. Pak claiming 6 Indian casualties proves it's a propaganda machinery: Indian Army

Recently India’s neighbouring country, Pakistan had claimed of killing the six Indian Army soldiers along the LoC. Over this incident, the Indian Army had said that it had only one fatal casualty and four non-fatal casualties. In addition to this, Indian Army said, “Pakistan DG ISPR's tweet of six Indian casualties again proves that Pakistan as a nation is only a propaganda machinery, Unlike Pakistan Army, Indian Army never hides the casualties."
