A group of locals has recently stormed into a Tollygunge police station and assaulted the police officer, who had arrested 3 men for drinking in public. It became a major embarrassment for the administration department after the video of some men and women repeatedly slapping and heckling the man went online. Earlier from the same area, a policeman was hiding under the table when a local Trinamool Congress leader was detained by the police. This video too was a slap on the police department’s face.
