In West Bengal's Kolkata city, a transgender couple, both of whom underwent sex reassignment surgery, got married in a traditional Bengali ceremony. This is reportedly the first LGBTQ wedding in the state. According to the media reports, the bride, Tista Das (38), and the groom, Dipan Chakravarthy (40), took part in rituals. Tista Das, in an interview, stated, "We are feeling awesome actually. We are out of gender box and we love to be an exception and we think this is a strong bond between us". She further said, "It's a bond of love, a bond of liberty also, and this is solidarity of our souls".
