Section 144 to be imposed in Maharashtra due to Coronavirus

Amid Coronavirus outbreak, Section 144 will be imposed in Maharashtra from tomorrow. After 144 sections, trains, buses including ST and private buses have been stopped. Other buses shall be used only and only if there is an emergency. Banks, essential services, stock exchanges will be open. Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray informed that Churches, Temples, Masjid to be closed. Grocery and medical stores to be open. Working from home today: Rajnath Singh appeals citizens to observe Janata curfew

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh in a series of tweets today said that he is working from home today and appealed to all the citizens to stay home or work from home and support the Prime Minister's call for Janata Curfew. Another tweet said that India today is observing the 'Janata Curfew' from 7 am to 9 pm. This is going to be one of the biggest social distancing and mass awareness initiative against a pandemic in the history of mankind. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, in tweet yesterday commented on PM Modi’s request to clap hands and on the day of Janata Curfew at 5 pm and said that small and medium businesses and daily wage earners are the worst hit. Clapping won't help them. Only a massive economic package that includes direct cash transfers, tax breaks and a moratorium on loan repayments will. COVID-19: Indian Railways cancels all passenger trains till Mar 31

Indian Railways has cancelled all passenger trains till March 31 amid the Coronavirus outbreak in the country. However, goods trains will be allowed to run. The railways had already trimmed down its services on Friday by cancelling a majority of trains. However, it had allowed all trains that had already started the journey to continue. This comes as the number of Coronavirus cases in the country rose to over 300. Earlier, 12 passengers who traveled on trains on March 13 and 16 tested positive for Coronavirus.
