Will the long debated Article 370's removal end up bringing good future of J&K? Here are the Pros & Cons

Jammu and Kashmir, the most sensitive region of India is on the edge again, as there are speculations afloat that BJP Govt would soon scrap Article 370 and 35A. The recent deployment of additional paramilitary troops triggered the rumors of removal of Special Provision. Different media from regional to national level argues about the legal and constitutional validity of Article 370, and its favorability or unfavorability among the citizen of J&K and rest of India. The contentious Article 370 of Indian Constitution lays a Special Provision for J&K to run the state autonomously. The existence of Article 370 is politically debated for long, all the regional parties including the National Conference and People Democratic Party stand with the Presence of Special Provisions. The grand old Congress party also supports the law, as Article 370 was the brainchild of Jawahar Lal Nehru. But the ruling party BJP has always been against it and argued that Article 370 was just a ‘temporary provision’ which can be revoked. As the Article has two starkly different sides, it is important to know what are its positive and negative aspects. The Article assures the people of J&K that the Sovereignty of the state will be respected by the Indian govt. It also protects the interest of citizens of J&K, as no one from the rest of India can invest in Kashmir, which encourages local businesses and less competition. The natural flora and fauna are intact as the Special provision restricts the Indian citizen from purchase of land or property in J&K, thus resulting in no major installations of heavy industries. Because of Article 370, the demographical change is also limited. But there are number of reasons discussed as to why removing Article 370 can lead to a better future of the state. The Militancy and Terror struck state lacks economical & social infrastructure, thus scrapping of Article will attract the investors in the state which can boost up the job generation and social welfare. The robust government intervention will look after the pace of the state's development. As per the BJP party, the law & order situation will also be bettered and Terrorism will completely be eradicated. The feeling of Oneness and Nationalism will be encouraged. What's your take on Article 370? Will it bring peace and development in J&K? Let us know in the comments below! #Article370 #IndianConstitution #JammuKashmir #istandwith
