Mumbai: Girl returning home post birthday celebration, gets gang-raped

In Mumbai's Chembur area, a 19-year-old girl was allegedly raped by four men, when she was returning home from her friend's place after her birthday celebration. According to the family of the victim, the girl didn't inform anyone about the episode for weeks. After her condition deteriorated, she was taken to a hospital, where the doctor uncovered that she was raped. The girl then narrated about the episode to her family. The police have registered an FIR against four accused persons under section 376 (rape) and 376D (gang rape) and 34 (criminal acts by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the IPC. Thane: Man give divorce to wife via WhatsApp, arrested under new Triple Talaq Law

In Maharashtra's Thane region, a man was arrested for allegedly giving Triple Talaq to his wife via WhatsApp. According to the media reports, a Muslim woman filed a complaint alleging that her husband uttered the word 'Talaq' thrice via phone to her. He also wrote the same words in a text and sent her on WhatsApp. Police have registered a case under section 4 of the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Act, 2019 (the new Triple Talaq Law passed in the Parliament recently). https://bit.ly/31czEyP

Jammu and Kashmir: Amarnath Yatra curtailed, Machail Yatra also suspended

After Jammu and Kashmir Government issued a security advisory for Amarnath Yatra pilgrims, around 5,000 tourists in the region have been drawn out of tourist resorts and hotels overnight and carried to Jammu safely within hours. Presently, the Machail Yatra (pilgrimage) to the Goddess Durga shrine has also been suspended and security has been tightened in the state's Kishtwar region. In Kashmir, no tourists are presently lodged at any hotels or houseboat. All current and impending bookings for incoming tourists have also been cancelled. Uttarakhand: Poisoning suspected in the death of 4 leopards

Four leopards were found dead on Friday at the Rajaji Tiger Reserve and the Shivalik Forest Circle in Uttarakhand. Rajaji Tiger Reserve (RTR) Director Prasanna Kumar Patra said that the bodies of three leopards were found within one kilometer from the reserve. The fourth, a three-year-old leopardess, was found dead near the Laalpani area of Dehradun forest division, with visible injuries. A panel of four doctors, who have conducted the post-mortem, said that poaching cannot be ruled out and it is suspected that the death is from poisoning. Src: https://bit.ly/2YGkOiv
