Himachal Pradesh: State Govt deploys buses, choppers to evacuate trapped persons from Lahaul-Spiti

Authorities in Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday used buses and helicopters to evacuate more than 1,000 tourists from Lahaul and Spiti after a freak snowfall and landslides. The landslides were triggered by incessant rains over the weekend that left tourists stranded in the tribal district. More than 670 roads were blocked due to landslides and flash floods. Even choppers are on standby to evacuate the tourists. The district administration dispatched a team of doctors for the checkup of people stuck in the region. The public works department and Border Road Organisation (BRO) have restored connectivity. Src:https://bit.ly/31W8uN7

Pak accuses India of using ‘water as weapon’ to wage 'fifth generational war'

Pakistan on Monday accused India of waging “fifth-generation warfare”, claiming that New Delhi had failed to inform it about the release of water from a dam that could cause flooding across the border. India’s federal water resources ministry, however, stated that the treaty asks for advance notice only in cases of “extraordinary amounts of water” that could harm the other party. Islamabad said the unexpected release of water into the Sutlej river was New Delhi's attempt to break the longstanding treaty between the countries. Src: https://bit.ly/2ZiMudH 4) US President Trump

After United Nations Security Council (UNSC), Pakistan to approach International Court of Justice (ICJ) on Kashmir issue

After facing disappointment at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Pakistan has decided that it will approach the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the issue of Kashmir. Qureshi stated, “The decision was taken after considering all legal aspects”. This came days after the UNSC rejected Pakistan’s call for an emergency meeting and held ‘closed consultation’ by supporting India’s stance that Kashmir is a bilateral issue between the two neighbour.
