Maneka Gandhi, Suresh Prabhu, JP Nadda, Radha Mohan Singh not included in Modi Cabinet.

BJP leaders Maneka Gandhi, Suresh Prabhu, JP Nadda, Radha Mohan Singh (Cabinet Ministers in the first Modi government), have been dropped in the new government that assumed office. Maneka Gandhi, one of the senior most members, is tipped to become pro-team speaker of Lok Sabha. Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj, and Uma Bharti also did not figure in the Cabinet.

PM Modi's 'crisis manager' S Jaishankar gets Cabinet berth.

Former Foreign Secretary Subrahmanyam Jaishankar emerged as a surprise entrant into PM Narendra Modi's 2.0 Union Cabinet. Jaishankar was conferred with Padma Shri award, regarded as a close aide to PM Modi and was also hailed as his "crisis manager" in matters of foreign affairs. He is also known as the Indian government's key strategist for China and the US. He was a member of the team in 2008, which negotiated the landmark Indo-US nuclear deal under the UPA government headed by them, PM Manmohan Singh. He holds the degree of MA in Political Science and an M Phil and Ph.D. in International Relations from the JNU.
