SC to take up mediation report on Ayodhya case today, after no consensus has been reached

The mediation panel looking into the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid conflict has been unable to come to an agreement. The panel submitted a report to the Supreme Court to explore the possibility of an out-of-court settlement to the decades-long Ayodhya land dispute. Hindus claim that the disputed site where Babri Masjid is erected was built on the ruins of a temple razed by Mughal invaders. The mosque was then demolished by Hindus. The mediation panel was appointed to “heal relationships” between communities. Most Hindu parties opposed the initiative. But it was welcomed by Muslim parties. Src: https://bit.ly/2K9fOia
