The Supreme Court had issued a notice of ‘Contempt’ to Rahul Gandhi for passing a comment ‘chowkidaar Chor hai’ on PM Modi over Rafale deal SC verdict. The three-judge bench headed by Rajan Gogoi came up with the decision after hearing an explanation from Rahul, where he ‘regretted about it’ and said ‘it was said in the heat of political campaigning’.

भारत के इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स और सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी मंत्रालय (MeitY) ने Apple और google स्टोर्स से अपने ऐप स्टोरों से TikTok APP को हटाने के लिए कहा है। यह निर्णय सुप्रीम कोर्ट द्वारा 3 अप्रैल से मद्रास उच्च न्यायालय के आदेश पर रोक लगाने के लिए टिकटोक की याचिका को खारिज कर दिया था, ताकि ऐप के डाउनलोड पर प्रतिबंध लगाया जा सके।

Supreme court orders to Remove TikTok app from Apple and Android Stores

India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has asked Apple and google stores to remove the TikTok APP from their app stores. This decision came after the Supreme Court had rejected TikTok’s plea to stay a Madras High Court order from April 3, to put a ban on the app’s downloads.

It seems EC has woken up to its power: SC ‘s remark over EC's action against political leaders.

After Supreme Court schooled EC for not taking action against hate speeches delivered by politicians, EC imposed a ban on electoral campaigning on four members of different parties for violating the rules. Supreme Court made a remark on the action by Election Commission, by saying “it seems EC has woken up to its power”. A bench headed by CJI Rajan Gogoi said, “It seems EC has woken up to its power and taken action against politicians”.
