Uttar Pradesh: Police ban namaz on roads across the state

In Uttar Pradesh, the police have imposed a complete ban on offering namaz on roads however, a senior police officer stated that during special occasion large crowd gathering for offering prayers on festivals would be allowed by the district administration, but this practice will not be allowed as a routine during every Friday prayer. He further said that the official have been asked to hold a meeting with mosque administrations to sensitise them on how namaz on roads interrupted smooth traffic flow and caused other problems. Singh added that other religious communities would also not be allowed to hold similar gatherings on roads if it interrupted the traffic flow or caused inconvenience to others. Mathura: Auto richshaw driver arrested after tourist uses his phone to make bomb threat call

In Uttar Pradesh's Mathura city, an autorickshaw driver (Munna) has been taken into police custody, whose mobile phone was allegedly used by a tourist to make a bomb threat call to blow up Prem Mandir in Vrindavan and Krishna Janmasthan Temple. According to a senior police officer, Munna was arrested through surveillance. Munna stated that he conversed with a tourist, who asked for his cell phone to make a call. Later, the tourist fled away with his phone and after that made threat calls. According to the officer, seven teams have been assigned to nab the culprit. Uttar Pradesh: Four arrested committing bank fraud

In Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Buddh Nagar, the state Special Task Force's (STF) Noida unit has arrested four people for committing bank frauds. According to the SSP, "The accused used to set up fake companies, with fake employees using fabricated documents. After rotating salaries in the fake accounts for a few months, they used to draw personal and car loans from banks in the name of the fake employees' and run away with the amounts". He added that the accused have been identified as Manoj Thakur, Sanjay Thakur, Animesh Thakur, and Ajeet Sharma. A case has been registered against the accused. Src: https://bit.ly/2KyH6NT

Uttar Pradesh police filed a murder case against BJP legislator Kuldeep Sengar for rape survivor’s accident

UP police have filed a murder case against BJP lawmaker Kuldeep Sengar based on a complaint filed by the family of Unnao rape survivor who met with a car crash on Sunday afternoon. The rape survivor’s two aunts died in the crash. She and her lawyer are on life support. The police case was filed after her family alleged the accident was a “conspiracy”. “Kuldeep Sengar is behind this incident. He has been threatening us.
