Kartarpur corridor will be opened in November: Pakistan

Pakistan Foreign Office Spokesperson Mohammad Faisal stated that despite tension with India his country is committed to open the Kartarpur corridor for Sikh pilgrims from November. He added, "Pakistan is committed to open the corridor in November on the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak". Faisal included that a meeting on the corridor would take place soon. The proposed corridor will allow Sikhs to visit the shrine, located only a few km from the border, without a visa. Faisal said that he isn’t sure if India would stay focused on the project, which many thought could help connect differences between the two countries. Src: https://bit.ly/2ZkBgoE

PM Modi's governance model not a complete negative story, demonising him won't help: Jairam Ramesh

Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh to his party colleagues stated, "He (Modi) talks in a language that connects him with the people. Unless we recognise that he is doing things which people recognise and which have not been done in the past, we are not going to be able to confront this guy". Ramesh further warned, "Also, if you are going to demonise him all the time, you are not going to be able to confront him". Ramesh clarified that he wasn’t calling for praise or applause for the current PM, he only wanted the opposition to perceive the qualities that had pulled PM to power and then re-election, particularly the “economics of governance”.
